FINANCIAL SUBSIDIES, EXEMPTIONS & INCENTIVES

Málaga offers national tax incentives for international film productions, fiction, animation, and documentary audiovisual series that take place on Spanish territory. The incentive percentage was increased by 30% for the first million spent in our country and 25% for subsequent million euros (with a maximum refund limit of 10 million euros, but not exceeding 50% of the production cost). In addition to the benefits of the region and our established, bilingual audiovisual industry, this increase makes Málaga one of the most competitive and attractive destinations in Europe, and also worldwide.
Regarding local incentives, in addition to the free services offered by this office, Málaga City Council also offers exemption from filming fees for all non-advertising productions (advertising productions pay a minimal fee per day). Free fees are also available for other municipal services (parking, traffic closures, furniture changes, lighting, etc.) for all productions.
